Proud Pepper Jelly Co.In 1994, our father, Bob Duggan, decided to grow jalapeno and habanero peppers.  Fortunately, his plants flourished and yielded more peppers than he knew what to do with.  Our family told Dad that if he wanted any help consuming the abundant peppers, he would need to make something we could actually eat (as only he was crazy enough to try a habanero by itself). So, he began altering jelly recipes and finally settled on the Jalapeno and Cranbanero recipes that we still use today.

At first, we only served the jellies at our own social gatherings and gave them to family and friends as gifts.  Soon people began calling us for more!  We began to sell the jelly at the Kingwood Women’s Club (KWC) Holiday Marketplace in 1996.  In 1999, we expanded our flavors with the addition of Raspbanero.  The Peach Bonnet flavor was fine tuned and added to the collection in 2002.  We continued to sell Proud Pepper Jelly at the KWC Marketplace and at a few church and local craft shows, thereby adding to our loyal customers who kept asking for more.  In 2006, after the 10th year of selling our jellies at the KWC Marketplace, we decided it was time to expand the business.
